Travel from 2000. For many years, we had to wait for the political stability that followed the 1997 coup d'etat.
I had known Chen for 15 years, it had taken me time before I piece together the fragments of the stories that I had heard regarding Cambodia. What had happend in this country where the one who would became my friend had lived (survived), while I was living a peaceful childhood in France? What country is this that, around the 10th century, was the seat of the fabulous Khmer empire? What was that story on genocide at the end of the seventies which I had previously known so little about?
This trip, strong in emotion, was also a reunion for Chen with his little brother who was lost twenty years prior while running away from the khmer rouge during an exodus.
